Next Game:Football may have begun as a game governed by a set of rules, but it has evolved into something much greater. In the eyes of many it is a way of life; a battle of will, grit, and determination between people of different nations and regions that takes place on a field we know as the football pitch. A football match is a ritual where people gather to share their passion for the game in one sense and in the other to show their superior support and dedication to their team, because each team is a symbol portraying an element of unity, and its own unique features. For this reason every club has a unique history behind it. How it started, the story of the people who started it and on.
On a smaller scale, community teams in our region of southern Ontario all have a brief history. Likewise, Esteghlal Toronto Football Club was founded by a group of dedicated people who wanted to teach their knowledge of the game to the youth, and create a competitive environment in which the Iranian-Canadian community can compete with groups of other communities and to make themselves known by the sport and recreational community within the country. This club was established in 2003 by Ramin Kiaiefar, and Zare Malekian who are both experienced former professional players. Ramin Kiaiefar, a FIFA certified coaching license B holder, later took the role of technical director and head coach at the club.
